Tawanda's Tale 11-5-07

My friends help me to feel healthy! I thank them for that. Although, I would prefer to have them stay healthy. There are other ways for me to feel healthier.
One of my dearest friends is walking around with a catheter strapped to her leg and a tube out her back from her left kidney to another bag on her other leg.
Before these two bags were installed (so to speak), she was a 3 minus on a depression scale of 1-10 where 1 is suicidal and 10 is feeling fabulous. The 3 minus is my (nsh) opinion. There was no light visible in her tunnel of life.
Now, she will be walking around with these 2 bags for at least a couple of weeks, and she is on top of the world. She is about half way through her tunnel and the light is pouring in on her. In fact, she is getting a little sunburned. Trust me, it looks great on her!
More about her after she, hopefully, talks with her Dr tomorrow.

My today was spent with another dearest friend who had knee surgery. The Dr told us it went perfectly. Now that means (to me) that she will be hiking mountains in a few days. My friend believes it means that she will be, at least, walking in a few days. I wonder what it means to her Dr., who was in and out so fast there was no chance for any of us to ask this or any other question. My friend was on her way home within 2 hours of the (yet to be seen, successful) conclusion of her surgery.

So now, it appears that with all of our advanced medicine & technology, we have added surgery mills to our list of progress plethora.

Now, I am going to go look for some more interesting blogs to read. I am extremely hopeful that others had some kind of insightful or fun or both things to blog about today.

My day seems to be completed when I finish my nightly game of sudoku. I am not a master yet. I am working on speed. This completes my day because by the time i am through with all those numbers, my eyes are tired and ready to find some wonderful, non-surgical, dreams.
